THE magic of Easter is nearly upon us and many families across the Upper Hunter are scrambling for entertaining and cost effective ways to enjoy the long weekend, and luckily for them there is a top drawer event being held in Muswellbrook.
The Easter Family Fun Day will return for its second year, following the great success its debut in 2018.
Set to be held at Highbrook Park on the 20th of April, entry is free of charge and people of all ages will be able to enjoy the festivities, although the kids will have something extra special to look forward to.
Rumours are circling the Easter Bunny will make an appearance on the day, alongside the jumping castles, face paining, camel rides, and an Easter egg hunt.
For the adults there will be plenty of food, drink and market stalls as well as live music and a classic car show, assuring it will be a great day for everyone involved.
Tourism and events officer for the Muswellbrook Shire Council (MSC) Ruaan Van Der Wath said he's hoping there are even more people in attendance this year.
"Moving forward we're hoping to grow the event, 2019 will see quite a bit of growth and a few changes with more activities for the community to enjoy," he said.
"Ultimately it's creating a fun, family friendly community event that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to do something over the long Easter weekend.
"And hopefully we can top the numbers that we achieved last year and to even grow that larger in the future."
Proceedings kick off an 9 am and run through to 2 pm, with the super special guest expected to appear at approximately 10:30.
There is plenty of motivation to stay for the entire event too with the egg hunt occurring at midday and a lucky door prize draw at 1:30.
The show is being put on as a split effort between the MSC and Bengalla Mining Company who are helping fund the event.
