Merton Living provides care and services for the senior community of Muswellbrook Shire and is an approved provider for permanent residential care via Merton Court Hostel - the residential aged care facility in Virginia Street, Denman.
With 17 single rooms, all with their own ensuite and air conditioning, the residents of Merton Court have their very own comfortable space to call home in their twilight years. Staff are able to provide a very personal and caring service in such a small and homelike environment.
The staff and residents of Merton Court have recently welcomed a new vehicle that can accommodate motorised and standard wheelchairs, meaning all residents can now be transported on outings.
"This is immensely important for our residents to be able to remain connected to their community, and revisit their history in the region," stated Shani Mitchell, General Manager.
Merton Living is also an approved provider for home care packages via Merton Home Care service. With home care packages now allocated to eligible seniors and not providers, the Merton Home Care service has been allowed to grow from five packages to twenty in the last 18 months.
Merton Home Care has had clients in Denman and surrounding district, with some brokered from other service providers as far away as Merriwa for short term service needs. Merton Home Care is able to provide services to seniors allocated home care packages from Level one to four.
The service has been able to help many consumers purchase speciality chairs, wheelchairs and other aids to help seniors maintain as much independence as possible.
Merton Living has built a 46-unit retirement village in the heart of Denman - in fact, all Merton Living services are located centrally and within walking distance of shops and medical services. Merton Village has 26 units on its Ogilvie Street site and another 20 on Turtle Street.
The attraction of Merton Village - and Denman for that matter - is that it is flat, quiet (the Golden Highway runs along the edge of town), and friendly, with just about all the shops and services that you need. Great cafes, solicitor, pharmacy, post office and medical practices. Merton Home Care also provides a great support service for Merton Village residents.
Merton Living currently has vacancies in Merton Court Hostel and also in Merton Village. For more information, please call 6547 2684.
