The author penned the holiday tale Mrs Bunny and the Easter Egg, and took time on Tuesday and Thursday morning to read it to the kids at Aberdeen Pre-school.
Incredibly, she revealed the original copy of the work had actually been written as a short story when she was just 14.
But, it had taken until now for her to find the courage to follow through with it, after some encouragement from her husband, Robert.
She's since struck a publishing deal with Pegasus, who is based in the United Kingdom, and has two more on the way, one which will have a Christmas feel to it and another that will explore the NSW drought through the eyes of "Mrs Bunny".
Mrs Findlow said she could hardly believe her goal had been accomplished - and said she'd received a wonderful reception from the community.
"It's a dream come true," she explained.
"Once I got the publisher it was a pretty easy process but it was just about getting someone to believe in me and publish it.
"They illustrated for me and it's a thrill, it's an absolute thrill.
"Everyone who knows I'm a local author has treated me so beautifully and it's sort of surreal really, because I don't feel any different and I'm still me, but it's awesome."
Her book costs $12.99 to purchase and is sure to feature heavily in the local area as her reputation builds.
