STEP right up - local residents are in for a real treat later this month.
Hudsons Circus is setting up base at the Muswellbrook Showground from Wednesday, July 31, until Sunday, August 4.
The traditional two-hour extravaganza also features a modern twist, which includes edge of your seat daredevils, hilarious clowns and beautiful animal acts in a fast-paced show for the entire family.
Australia's foremost ringmistress Jane De Goldi will present all of this, plus more.
A large part of Hudsons Circus is based around animals of all shapes and sizes who are very well-trained, very well-cared for and very well-looked after by their handlers.
"The owners look after them 24 hours a day," a spokesperson said.
"A few of the animals were saved from culling programs and then trained, so there's a bit of an emphasis on education and conservation."
There are buffalo, camels, llamas, macaws and zebras - one of the only circuses in Australia to have the African animal - who all take part in their own performance each night.
Then there are the Brazilian and Australian riders who perform in the Globe of Death.
But, that's not all.
Hudsons Circus also showcases Welsh mountain ponies; the famous Goldie The Clown and his magical, cheeky car; the Flying Hudsons trapeze act; juggling; the Triple Dare Devil Wheel and much more.
For the kids, there's showbags, laughing clowns and a jumping castle, too.
Show times include: Wednesday, July 31 (7pm); Thursday, August 1 (7pm); Friday, August 2 (7pm); Saturday, August 3 (1pm and 4pm); and Sunday, August 4 (11am).
The Box Office is open for ticket sales from 10am until 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Alternatively, you can also buy your tickets from the Box Office on site in the hour prior to showtime.
