YOUNGSTERS at four Upper Hunter pre-schools, and not-for-profit long day care centres, will have access to state-of-the-art childhood learning facilities and specialised educational programs.
Thanks to the NSW Government's Quality Learning Environments initiative, Aberdeen Pre-School, Upper Hunter Learning Centre, Scone & District Pre-School and Muswellbrook Pre-School Kindergarten are among 11 in total to benefit from the funding boost.
Aberdeen Pre-School received $10,000 towards floor replacement, while the Upper Hunter Learning Centre secured $7363.52 for a bush kindergarten program excursion.
Scone & District Pre-School pocketed $8359 for lighting and bathroom renovation and $9200 went to Muswellbrook Pre-School Kindergarten for a mud kitchen and flag poles.
Other educational facilities in the electorate to receive grants, of up to $10,000, included Singleton Heights Pre-School Inc, Children's Services Community Management (Clarence Town Pre-School), Dungog Community Pre-School Kindergarten Inc, Gloucester Pre-School Inc, Willow Tree Pre-School Inc, Quirindi Pre-School Kindergarten Inc and Liverpool Plains Shire Council (Quirindi Eastside Child Care Centre).
"I am thrilled that the littlest learners in our electorate will benefit from this funding now and for years to come," Upper Hunter MP Michael Johnsen said.
"These grants can be used to make physical improvements to early childhood services, like new gardens, jungle gyms or bathroom renovations, and can also assist the rollout of new learning programs, such as music lessons or yoga classes.
"I look forward to seeing how the 11 services in the electorate utilise this funding.
"Research shows the cognitive, social and emotional benefits a quality early childhood education has on our children, so it is important that as a government we continue to make these important investments."
