Now, it is preparing to welcome everyone to its own Community Open Day at the Muswellbrook Showground on Saturday, October 26.
Between 10am and 2pm, there'll be entertainment, a free barbeque, kids' activities from face painting to Wildlife Aid animals, along with numerous interactive displays to learn more about the mine's operation.
"We are looking forward to our Open Day on Saturday - and opening up the doors to Bengalla's Mine where the residents can visit our site on a guided bus tour," general manager Cam Halfpenny said.
"As we celebrate our 20-year anniversary, there'll be plenty of activities at the showground with the support of our valued suppliers as well as our community partners.
"We are long-term members of the Upper Hunter valley and committed to the future.
"So, everyone is welcome to come along for a day of family-friendly activities, as well as plenty to eat and drink.
"It's also a terrific opportunity for our employees who live in the area to show their wives, husbands, children, companions and friends what they do."
Mr Halfpenny said the Bengalla Community Open Day appeared on the local calendar every second year.
"The whole Bengalla team has been busily preparing for the event," he added.
"We're all looking forward to the opportunity of having residents - from throughout the shire - coming along for a great day out."
Please note covered footwear is essential for the bus tour and a parent or guardian must accompany children under-12.
The minimum age is five years old.
