LONG-time BHP employee Adam Lancey will take over the reins at Mt Arthur Coal this month, following general manager David Boshoff's decision to resign from the position.
He'll step into the role of GM of the Muswellbrook site on Friday, November 15 - the same day his predecessor departs.
Mr Boshoff tendered his resignation in September to become a project director at the controversial Adani Carmichael mine and rail venture in Queensland.
His replacement, Mr Lancey, is a familiar face to the team after 18-plus years with BHP.
He brings a wealth of experience with the NSWEC Asset as well as roles in commercial, business improvement, projects, production and processing and, most recently, playing an integral part on the Asset Leadership Team, as head of integrated operations for both BMC and NSWEC.
Mr Lancey, who was named gender diversity champion at the 2016 NSW Women in Mining Awards, has also been guiding the team on the Mt Arthur Coal Continuation Project and currently holds a number of directorships across the organisation, including the Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group (NCIG) and the Hunter Valley Coal Chain Coordinator (HVCCC) boards.
He is the BHP representative on the NSW Minerals Council's executive committee, too.
