The event, on Friday, November 29, will take place between 10.30am and 12.30pm on the premises' front lawn off Brentwood Street.
Upper Hunter MP Michael Johnsen is expected to start proceedings with an official welcome to the community.
"This redevelopment was part of a commitment by the Nationals in government to deliver for the people of Muswellbrook and our region," he said.
"And, we've delivered as promised.
"I strongly encourage residents to come and see this state-of-the-art medical facility of which we are all so proud.
"There will be short tours of the hospital, a free sausage sizzle, free health checks and a chance to meet the friendly staff."
Muswellbrook District Hospital manager Wendy Hordern said the event was an opportunity not to be missed.
"We're so pleased that after watching our redeveloped hospital take shape, the community can now get a close look at the improved services we now have to offer," she explained.
"The short tours will run through the new hospital entrance, Imaging, Day Stay Unit and the Infusion Unit.
"We'll be continuing patient care as normal so we won't be able to take people through every facility.
"However, we'll also provide fact sheets complete with photographs of all the new services."
The $21.5 million Muswellbrook District Hospital Redevelopment has delivered expanded and refurbished services including:
* Chemotherapy department with four standalone chairs, and a new chemotherapy procedure/isolation room with treatment chair;
* Renal Dialysis Unit with five spaces, and an additional renal dialysis isolation room with treatment chair;
* Expanded ambulatory care clinic, with five consultation rooms, one interview room and one treatment room;
* Day Stay Unit with six recovery bays; and
* A new medical imaging department.
