And, no, it had nothing to do with a game of union.
A team of willing Muswellbrook Rugby Club members joined forces with Muswellbrook Shire Council on Sunday, September 27, to plant about 400 native species at the Heelers' home ground.
The new section comprising trees, shrubs and lower ground cover plants will complement the healthy plantation established approximately 10 years ago.
"We are really proud of Highbrook Park and welcomed the opportunity to partner with council to add to the natural beauty of the precinct," club president Michael Hall said.
"I must say the project proved a great success.
"We extend our thanks to council's sustainability team leader Ziggy Anderson for his support and direction.
"It made the job most enjoyable."
