Measures worth $1.1 billion to improve Indigenous health and wellbeing have been announced by the federal government.
KEY SPENDING INCLUDES:
* $378.8 million for a Stolen Generations redress scheme for Northern Territory, ACT and Jervis Bay Territory survivors
* $75,000 one-off payments will go to individuals, alongside $7000 for trauma support and personal apologies
* $254.4 million for Aboriginal-controlled community health organisations
* $160 million for early years support for Indigenous children
* $75 million to improve high school education options in remote communities
* $66 million for alcohol and drug treatment services
* $26 million to boost teaching quality and student outcomes at remote schools
* $22 million to help preserve Indigenous languages
* $16.9 million in legal funding and to reduce Indigenous incarceration
* $10 million to coordinate delivery of Closing the Gap targets
* $8.3 million for culturally-appropriate family dispute resolution
